Public libraries in Wales are working with The Reading Agency to showcase the proven power of reading when it comes to tackling life’s big challenges. Our vision is a world where anyone can read their way to a better life.

This is more important than ever right now and right here in Wales. Children, teenagers and young people have been through the toughest of times over the last two years and we’re all doing our best to overcome Covid risks and restrictions as 2022 gets underway.

Cue the Winter of Wellbeing, the Welsh Government’s brilliant big picture thinking which aims to connect children and young people to each other and their community in a myriad of creative ways with the goal of helping everyone overcome current challenges. Our public library Winter of Wellbeing campaign is a special part of that big picture. We want it to introduce you to reads that lift your mood, open new doors, take you to different places, start new conversations, connect you to new groups and friends and to fabulous opportunities right where you live that will make you and the future feel better.

Most importantly we want to make sure that you can take advantage of how your local library can make that happen. It has a mass of support, special events, activities and hordes of good reads (audio, print and digital) waiting to help you through this Winter of Wellbeing and every week that follows.
